Tiny treats for the modern mind

"Instead of allowing ourselves to be led and trapped by our feelings, we should let them disappear as soon as they form, like letters drawn on water with a finger."

  -- Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche

"I'm meditating on my inability to meditate due to the fact that when I meditate, I can't stop thinking about how I can't meditate because I'm thinking about my inability to meditate. Is that correct?"

"One drop of the sea cannot claim to come  from one river, and another drop of the sea from another river; the sea is a single consistent whole. In the same way, all beings are one."
  -- Chandogya Upanishad

"So, the interdependence of phenomena equals universal responsibility. What a  marvelous equation!"
    -- Trinh Xuan Thuan (astrophysicist)

Tiny Tales

Diablo’s Revenge

Diablo was livid. His Feeder was going on vacation, leaving him in the care of a lowly cat-sitter. He vowed to exact his revenge. When he found the credit card lying on the kitchen counter, Diablo made his move. He pawed at the shiny object, deftly grabbed it with his teeth, and ran to conceal it behind the sofa. When the Feeder arrived at the airport and discovered her loss, she would make her ugly crying sounds. It would serve her right. Feline karma is unforgiving. When the Feeder returned, Diablo would punish her further by ignoring her for days.
